Pod koniec XIX wieku w liczącym ówcześnie 40 tysięcy mieszkańców Krakowie, znajdowało się aż 17 restauracji, 140 szynków i 52 garkuchnie. Sercem Parku Jordana, podobnie jak wielu innych krakowskich ogrodów, była jedna z nich. Serwowano tu wyśmienite dania kuchni staropolskiej, niemniej nie brakowało smaków przywiezionych z całej Europy. W karcie menu można było znaleźć takie pozycje jak consomne colbert, filet cielęcy z sosem rakowym czy też tortua z czereśniami.

At the end of the 19th century, there were as many as 17 restaurants, 140 inns and 52 diners in Krakow, which at that time had 40 thousand inhabitants. In the heart of Henryk Jordan Park, like many other gardens in Cracow, there was such a diner. It served delicious old Polish cuisine, but there was no shortage of flavours brought from all over Europe. On the menu card, you could find such items as consomne colbert, veal fillet with crayfish sauce or cherry cake.
