About the park
Planty is one of the most beautiful and largest urban gardens. It was established in place of defensive walls, moat and earthwork that formerly constituted fortifications around the Old Town. They are comprised of 8 gardens whose names directly relate to the facilities and places situated in the vicinity – Barbican, Station, Florianka, Gródek, Art Palace, Stradom, University, Wawel. A stroll along the alleys of Planty is a true lesson of art and architecture history.
